Gaydos After Dark - Monday, February 25, 2008

Guess who decided to throw his hat into the ‘08 presidential race?  Nope, not him…or him…certainly not her. If you guessed Ralph Nader, you’d be correct.  So we’ve got “The Top 7 Ralph Nader Campaign Slogans!”

A picture surfaced today of Barack Obama wearing a turban and traditional Kenyan garb. Hillary Clinton’s camp denies making the photo public but come on…Gaydos knows better than that! Just how desperate is Hillary? Is there anything this woman won’t do to get back to the White House?

At 8 o’clock we bring you the most horrific way to get bumped to first class. Carine Desir died on an American Airlines flight bound for New York. Her cousin claims oxygen tanks and a defibrillator didn’t work (though the airline says they functioned properly).  Instead of propping her up in a seat, American employees placed a blanket over her and moved her to the floor in first class. How creepy is that? Where should this woman have been put on the plane?

At 9 o’clock Hollywood Dave breaks down the 80th presentation of the Oscars.

Legendary ABC newsman Sam Donaldson joins us at 9:30 as he does every Monday. We discuss what it means to have Ralph Nader jump into the race and we break down Hillary Clinton’s mood swings and back-and-forth behavior with Barack Obama.

We wrap up the show talking about loser Mike Huckabee’s appearance on Saturday Night Live. Will this guy EVER go away?

  1. 1 J.P.

I was traveling through your area looking for some decent talk radio tonight the 25 of Feb. Unfortunately,I did not find this with your station. Instead, I find a uncompassionate, immature, narcsacist, who potential has never put himself in a uncomfortable situation to possible comfort another in pain.

I am speaking of the tragic incident that occurred on the airplane that resulted in a woman’s death. To even suggest/joke that you put her in the bathroom, out of sight of kids running up and down the isle, or because your are scared or have the Hebe gebies is a testament to your character, sir. This is a time, if you had been on the plane , to step up, be mature, have a little compaction for the man who just lost his wife.

Be mature by acting like an adult and do what you can to help ease this mans pain, even if it is just sitting their keeping your mouth shut. This lady dying was not dilebertly done to inconvenience you, if you had been there. Life is not all cherries and roses. There are hard lessons to be learned and taught. Death is a part of life and if you find yourself in these type of situations, think of the grieving and give a little. You would be amazed how it would make you feel and how those would feel around you. I think you would also be surprised in the number of people that would follow your lead.

You have demonstrated in this segment, I feel, some of the problems in our great country today. This me me grab and growl attitude followed by an air of entitlement, ending with not taking responsibility for ones own actions or those one may be in control of, i.e. (kids running up and down the isle, ludicrous).

Look, obviously I don’t know you and I am sure you are a great guy… but, I found the approach to the segment tonight tasteless and disrespectful. Think about if it were your wife or someone close to you.

    Sincerely all the best,

    J.P.

P.S. I did not get the impression your listeners need insensitive jargon to get a response out them.
