Gaydos After Dark–Monday, March 31st, 2008

They’re opening a posh luxury theater in Scottsdale and the admission price will be in the elite range as well! Tonight, it’s “The Top 7 Features of a High Class Movie Theater”!

During tonight’s first hour, charges have been filed in the Higley school bus incident and the girl who demanded to be let off the bus could face up to six months in juvenile detention! Looks like nothing will happen to the driver who wouldn’t let her off! This seems like way too much punishment for the kid and way too little for the driver! Could it be that County Attorney Andrew Thomas sees an opportunity for more publicity here?

At 8, Arizona Spelling Bee champ So-Young Chung joins me live! Are you wondering if I, Gaydos, can out-spell this bright 11-year-old? We’ll find out the answer is—well—no. Sadly, no.

The Piestewa Peak issue is back! The U.S. Board of Geographic Names is set to vote on whether to officially rename the peak after the fallen U.S. soldier! We’re finding that people are still emotional about the issue, even five years after Lori Piestewa’s death! In my opinion, the renaming was always just a political stunt on the part of our governor. I just hope the board will have the good sense to toss it out. We’ll find out what you think at 8:30!

One of the world’s top neurosurgeons says cell phone use is just as dangerous as smoking! That settles it! I’m throwing out my cell! From now on, I will make use of pay phones (thoroughly wiping them down first, of course)! It’s a small price to pay to save myself from a deadly tumor! It’s our 9 o’clock topic!

Sam Donaldson is the crown jewel of the Gaydos After Dark news team and he joins us at 9:30 to discuss Democrats’ dilemma! The fight for Democratic delegates is about to get messy and John McCain must be thrilled about it!
